Some tips for experiencing the Best of Bowfest:

1.Buy your tickets in advance at Phoenix!

2.Bring some cash -most vendors on site won’t be able to accept anything except cash and once you find a ceramic mug you can’t put down, a great t-shirt, or desire to sign up for a membership with a local non-profit organization, or want to buy some food or beverages from the on-site vendors… making a trip to the bank machine isn’t that much fun. Especially because the bank machine traditionally runs out of cash on the Bowfest weekend!

3. Volunteer on-site: there’s lots of opportunities; in fact: this fair wouldn’t happen without volunteers. The Bowfest committee: volunteers! Most of the people sitting at the tables, running the parade, arranging for the wood so that the kids can build boats, entering contest, setting up the stage and chairs and signs and decorations, and performing at Bowfest: volunteers! Being part of an event that is a community fair is what makes it great! For more information on volunteer opportunities and contacts: www.bowfest2010.com or email: bowfest@hotmail.com

4. Participate: try entering a contest either in advance, or on the day! (more details on the website!)

5. Bring a blanket, sunscreen, an umbrella, and carpool or walk to the festival if possible.

6.Pick up a copy of the Undercurrent and check out the Bowfest special insert to see what’s happening before you get to the site so you won’t miss any of the fun!

Black Sheep Border Morris Dancers at Parade of Lost souls -watch for the exciting end of the dance when Martin breaks my holly stick and I'm left dancing with a toothpick.
